A family in Clarksville, Tennessee, experienced a remarkable survival story when a tornado hit their mobile home last Saturday. This story shows the power and love of our God, even in the face of natural disasters.

The tornado, which struck their residence with devastating force, tore off the roof and upended the family’s life in an instant. Moore’s 4-month-old son was in his bassinet when the tornado lifted it, with her boyfriend, the child’s father, desperately trying to secure it amidst the chaos.

Describing the ordeal to WSMV-TV, Moore detailed how her boyfriend was swept up with the bassinet. In a separate part of the house, Moore herself faced the fury of the storm, protecting their 1-year-old son as their home collapsed around them. Incredibly, she managed to push both of them to safety.

The family’s fear for their youngest was immense when they couldn’t find him immediately. After a tense search, he was found in a fallen tree, safe but wet from the rain. Moore, relieved, shared her feelings: “I was pretty sure he was dead and we wouldn’t find him. But he’s here, and that’s by the grace of God.”

When you see the image of the bassinet in the tree, it really starts to sink in how miraculous this is:

Despite suffering minor injuries, the family lost their home and belongings to the tornado. In the aftermath, a GoFundMe page set up by Moore’s sister and has almost reached their goal of $100,000 as of this writing.

Remember Isaiah 43:2: “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.”
