A Short Prayer For Sister In The Hospital
Dear God, I want to pray for my sister who is in the hospital right now. She’s younger than me, so this is concerning. I thought she was in better health than I am, but here we are. I pray for her nurses and doctors, that they be fully attentive to her diagnosis and care while she is in there. I pray for her complete recovery, so she can come home to her family. I pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Prayer For Sister in Hospital After Car Accident
God in heaven, I just got a call from my brother-in-law that my sister is in the hospital because of a car accident. It’s a bit of a drive, but I am leaving now to get there as quickly as I can.
All I know is that she is alive and being treated, but it was serious enough for her to be sent to the hospital. Lord, this is more than bumps and bruises. I was not prepared to receive this news this evening–not sure if I every would be, actually. Right now I pray for You to help me calm my anxious thoughts and be near to my sister.
I pray for whoever hit her car, that they are okay, even though I am really mad at them for hurting my sister. I pray for the officers to get everything straight as to who is at fault, so it all can be handled properly. Thank you for their quick response to the accident.
Help me to drive safely and without delay to be with her. She means the world to me and I need to be there by her side. My sister helped raise me and I owe her so much for her care over the years. I pray she will be okay and that she is getting all the care she needs for her medical needs. I pray all of this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Prayer For Sister in Hospital For Surgery
I am so grateful, Lord God, that I can come to You at any time in prayer. It gives me comfort as I pray for my sister right now. She is in the hospital for surgery. Her doctors said it is pretty straightforward and shouldn’t be any surprises.
I’m still lifting her in prayer. I pray for the surgeon to be fully present and not distracted as he operates on my sister. I pray for the recovery nurse to be fully attentive to how she comes out of the anesthesia, so there are no side effects or bad reactions.
I give You thanks for her job which has great insurance for her and her family. This surgery is needed and they didn’t face the additional stress of wondering how to pay for it. Thank You for Your provision in my sister’s life.
I ask for Your complete healing through this surgery. I know You work in so many ways and are not limited, which is so amazing. Thank You through Jesus for hearing my prayer, Amen.
Prayer For Sister in Hospital For Birth of a Baby
Father God, our whole family is so happy to know that my sister is having a baby. She is on the way now for the birth and I pray that everything go smoothly. Thank You for the fact that she lives in a city with an outstanding healthcare system.
Her and her baby will be getting some of the best care available. Thank you for the baby being of good weight and in seemingly good health according to her last checkup. I pray for her physical strength and mental clarity through it all.
While she is in the hospital I pray that You protect her and the baby from any infections or viruses. Help keep them safe. I pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
“Are you sick? Call the church leaders together to pray and anoint you with oil in the name of the Master. Believing-prayer will heal you, and Jesus will put you on your feet. And if you’ve sinned, you’ll be forgiven – healed inside and out” (James 5.14-15 , The Message).
Prayer For Sister in Hospital For Illness
My sister is very sick, Lord. She had to be taken to the hospital because she was so weak and couldn’t eat anything. I’m not too clear on what is wrong with her, so I pray the doctors there will pay attention to all that is going on with her so they can give a proper diagnosis.
I pray for whatever treatment is needed for her is available so she doesn’t get any worse. I am very worried for her at the moment, so I ask for calmness in my spirit. I’m sure she is quite anxious as well, as she has never been this sick before.
Help her to remain focused on you, even in her weakened state. I pray for Your provision for the medical bills that will come from this. I pray for her to be healed of this illness, in Your time and will. I pray this prayer in the name of the Great Healer, Jesus Christ, Amen.
Prayer For Sister in Hospital After a Fall
Dear God, I pray for my sister. She is older than me and I’m up there in years. She lives alone and fell down last night. Unfortunately, no one knew she had fallen until early this morning. Thank You for her attentive neighbor, who noticed and call the EMTs.
My sister is now in the hospital to be checked on and to get tests and x-rays and so forth. I’m fearful that because she was on the floor for so long that her condition was made worse. I pray they figure out all that has happened.
I also pray that this will be a wakeup call for my sister, so she will realize that she needs someone to be checking on her regularly, or she needs to go to a place where they have such care. I love her and I know she won’t want that, but I pray that she be able to consider it.
I live too far away from my sister to help her in this way, so let me be an encouragement to her as she recovers from this fall. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
Prayer For Sister Who’s Been in Hospital for Extended Time
God, I’m not sure what to pray for, in regards to my sister. She went to the hospital several weeks ago for a sickness that had progressed, but now I’m not sure she’s ever going to get to leave to go home.
This is a big life change for her and her family. I don’t want my sister to die, but this extended care for her seems to be a sign that her time on this earth is ebbing away sooner than later.
If it is time for her to pass on, I pray that she can do that at home, in a place that is familiar to her, a place of comfort and peace. Help all of us to deal with this, especially my sister. I pray this in the name of Jesus, Amen.
Concluding Thoughts
Whatever the reason your sister is in the hospital, you’ll want to pray for her regularly. If you can’t be by her side, then your prayers can be an encouragement to her and her family. They can be lifted up, knowing that people are praying for her, and for them.
“The LORD sustains them on their sickbed and restores them from their bed of illness” (Psalms 41.3, NIV).
Going to the Lord in prayer, as the Psalmist gives us hope to do, can be a way for you to process your love and care for your sister. Praying helps your heart connect to your thoughts in a way that can bring peace.
I hope your sister is able to get out of the hospital. May these prayers give your strength to keep that hope alive in your heart and mind. Keep on praying!
