A Short Prayer For My Wife in the Hospital
Dear Lord God, I pray for my wife who is in the hospital. I wish she was able to be at home, but she has to be there for right now. I pray for her care and her full healing while she is there. Protect her from any infections or complications. Heal her in any way You deem fit, Lord. In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
Prayer For My Wife in Hospital After a Fall
Dear God, my wife fell this morning and has landed in the hospital. They’re not sure if anything is broken yet, but they did say she will have to spend at least a couple of days there for observation. It seems she hit her head when she fell, but she is also in a lot of pain.
I pray for the tests and x-rays to be clear in what they reveal so my wife can get the proper and specific care needed. I am thankful for Your Spirit who has filled me with a calmness I didn’t think I would have in this situation. I can now focus my care and attention on my wife, and not my anxiety.
Help my wife to recover from this fall. And help her to understand why she fell and what to do to avoid this kind of fall in the future. I ask all of this in the name of Jesus, Amen.
Prayer For My Wife in Hospital For Surgery
I am so grateful, Lord, that I can come to You at any time in prayer, regardless of the situation or circumstance. I am filled with peace and comfort as I pray for my wife. She is in the hospital for a scheduled surgery.
Although the doctor said it was necessary and not a life-threatening surgery or anything too serious, I’m still bringing her to You in prayer.
I pray for the surgeon to be fully present and not distracted as he operates on my wife. I pray for the recovery nurse to be fully attentive to how she comes out of the anesthesia, so there are no side effects or bad reactions. I pray against any infection or complications from this surgery.
I ask for Your complete healing through this surgery. I know You work in so many ways and are not limited, which is so amazing. I believe You still heal through medical procedures and so forth. I trust in You for my wife’s recovery.
I give You thanks that You are already providing for us through the great insurance we have through our jobs. It is a comfort to know that this surgery will not cause us to have to carry a huge financial burden as well. Thank You for all You are doing for my wife, in this moment, Amen.
Prayer For My Wife in Hospital After Car Accident
Father God, I can barely speak because my thoughts are so conflicted right now. I am racing to the hospital because my wife was taken there after a bad car accident. I pray with everything I have for her to be okay. I also pray with everything I have for the police to catch the person who hit her and drove off.
I don’t think I can pray for my wife properly while I am filled with anger toward that coward of a person. Help me to leave that person in Your hands so they can be held accountable. That situation is beyond my control so I ask that you give me peace in my mind right now.
I lift my wife to You, for the EMTs who are transporting her to be fully focused on her safety. I pray for the doctors and nurses in the ER who will receive her. I pray for all of her x-rays and other treatments she is going to get so they can take care of her injuries.
I can’t lose her, Lord. I don’t want her to die for any reason because of this accident. Place Your healing hand upon her while she is in the hospital and enable her body to fully recover from what she has suffered. I ask all of this in the strong name of Jesus, Amen.
Prayer For My Wife in Hospital For Birth of a Baby
Dear Lord God, I can’t believe this actually happening! We have hoped for so long for a baby and now that baby is on its way! As I sit in the waiting room while my wife is getting processed for the labor and delivery room, I am filled with so many emotions.
Help my wife and this soon-coming baby receive the best care available. Thank you for my job which has great benefits so this isn’t a financial burden. Thank you for the friends and family who are supporting us in the midst of this happy time.
While she is in the hospital I pray that You protect her and the baby from any infections or viruses. I pray for a safe and uneventful delivery. I’m looking forward to joining her in a few minutes. Help keep them safe. I pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
“The LORD sustains them on their sickbed and restores them from their bed of illness” (Psalms 41.3, NIV).
Prayer For My Wife in Hospital After a Stroke
God, my wife has suffered a stroke and is now in the hospital. I am so thankful that the EMTs arrived so quickly and were able to begin treatment so fast. They said that because they reached her in the first hour, that her chance of recovery was much better.
However it works, Lord, I know that it will be Your healing hand upon her. Bring her back to fullness of life and activity through the medicine she is getting. I believe in your healing in so many ways. Help my wife recover as she is in the hospital.
Thank you for the closeness of medical people and hospitals in our area. You are the God of all, and I pray to You through Christ, Amen.
Prayer For My Wife in Hospital For Illness
Lord God, my wife is quite sick from a combination of flu and pneumonia, and something the doctors can’t quite get a handle on. She is in the hospital now, it’s so bad. Beyond what the doctors told me, I’m not too clear on what is wrong with her. I pray for the doctors to be able to fully diagnose my wife so they can direct all of the proper treatments to her body.
This whole situation is really freaking me out, Lord. My mind is swirling with anxious thoughts. Please help me to be calm so I can properly direct all of my attention to her and her recovery and her care. I’ve got to be able to listen to the doctors and respond well.
I pray strength for her weakened immune system. I pray for all of the blood cells to do what they do and fight this disease. I am thankful she is in the hospital so she can get the best care possible. Help us to pay for all of this at some point, Lord. I ask all of this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Final Thoughts
As much as you will pray for your wife while she is in the hospital, you may find yourself running out of words. What else can I pray that I haven’t, you may ask yourself. That’s part of the reason why these prayers exist. To give you words when you don’t have any. To help you pray when you aren’t sure what to pray for.
“Are you sick? Call the church leaders together to pray and anoint you with oil in the name of the Master. Believing-prayer will heal you, and Jesus will put you on your feet. And if you’ve sinned, you’ll be forgiven – healed inside and out” (James 5.14-15 , The Message).
I encourage you to let others know what is going on with your wife while she is in the hospital. Let their prayers join with your prayers. As it is possible, have a pastor (or the hospital chaplain) come to your wife’s room and pray for her, as the Apostle James encourages us to do.
As you pray, can be a way for you to focus your love and care for your wife, and can help you to do something when you feel like there’s nothing you can do. Praying helps your heart connect to your thoughts in a way that can bring peace.
I hope your wife makes a full recovery from whatever landed her in the hospital. May these prayers give you strength to keep that hope alive in your heart and mind. Keep on praying!
