Each morning we wake up and have many things on our mind. One of them might be your friends and family. These are the people you care about and so these are the people we want to pray for.
God has created us in his image especially in creating us to be relational. God demonstrates perfect relation between the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God also desires to have a relationship with us has given us family and friends so we can experience relationships.
The relationship we have with family and friends is not always easy. We both come to the relationship with needs, desires, and sins. However, we know when we put in the effort these relationships can be one of the best things we ever get to experience or be part of.
We will have friends and family that are not walking with you. Our prayer for these family and friends is that they will know God and recognize Jesus as Lord. We understand that there is no life apart from Christ.
Then we also have friends and family that have been redeemed and live a life of love. Our prayers for them are usually full of thanksgiving and prayer for continued boldness.

God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, we pray this morning for our family and friends. You are such an amazing God who has chosen us before the foundation of the world. You adopted us into your family through the grace of Jesus Christ.
It is because of who you have made us to be that we cry out for our family and friends. We pray that our relationship with them will grow. We desire to see them come to you uniting them with you.
We can pray for their health, or their protection and you will hear those prayers. Ultimately, we want them to know you. We want them to know the love, peace, and power that only comes from you.
God, please give me the boldness to proclaim the Gospel to my friends and family. Help me to love them well, so there is no doubt of your goodness. We Pray these things in Jesus’ name, Amen.
Prayer For A Friend That Is In Need
Heavenly Father, I have a friend in need. At the beginning of this new day I pray you meet these needs. Although their outward needs may seem more clear to us; a financial need, an attitude adjustment, or sin is destroying their lives. We know their greatest need is you.
Lord, give me the boldness to share the Gospel with this friend. Allow your power to open their eyes to the truth that they need you. We are beings that want to be in control and independent so humble this friend to see their need for you.
Help this friend be real about their needs. Lord, reveal to my friend areas of their life that they have rebelled against you and help them to repent of those sins and experience your forgiveness. Help me be a friend that can help lead them to the healing that only you provide.
Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. (James 5:6 ESV)
I pray that one day they experience being satisfied by you alone. That they trust you with all their needs. That they will recognize that you are Lord and being in your Kingdom there is peace and rest.
Father, I pray that as they look back at this season of life they can see your hand at work. We know that you are sovereign over everything. We pray that you work in the need of my friend. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Prayer For A Friend That Is A Believer
I bow my knees before you Lord, thanking you for my friend. Help me to thank you each morning for this friend of mine loves you well and it encourages me so much in my walk with you. You revealed yourself to this friend in a way that opened his eyes to see you. Will you please continue to reveal yourself to this friend through your wisdom?
Thank you that this friend has loved people well, they make me feel valued. They see the needs of others and freely give. You have given this friend compassion and I want to thank you for that.
“I give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace of God that was given you in Christ Jesus,” (1 Corinthians 1:4 ESV)
God thank you for calling this friend to the hope you give. Thank you for the promise of your spiritual blessings and inheritance we find in scripture. God, you are working in this friend’s life with such power and we pray you continued your steadfast work in their life.
Father, we know that we live in a fallen world. Even this strong Christian friend will experience hard times. So, I pray right now that you protect this friend from the schemes of the devil. Please give this friend hope and encouragement in times of despair. Tether them close to you.
Thank you, Father, that the biggest threat this friend will ever face, is death, you have already figured. You have rescued him or her from hell and wrath and instead declared him or her as righteous. Thank you for this promise of being able to spend eternity with you God.
Lord, thank you that I can call this friend a brother or sister in Christ. It is our belief in you as Lord that calls us to do your will.
For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.” (Matthew 12:50 ESV)
It is through your saving work on the cross that has allowed us not just to be friends but family. Thank you for your work and I pray you will continue to make this friend more and more like you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Prayer For A Family Member That Is In Need
Father in Heaven, you are holy. I come to you in a desperate cry this morning to help my family member. Family is such a beautiful concept; they are people that we are connected to no matter the circumstance. I have a family member that is in need, so I ask you for help.
This family member’s need has ripple effects in our family. It not only is affecting them but all of us who are connected to them. It has caused hurt and strife. Our family is tired.
Lord, we know that ultimately, they need you. Not just the story of you but you in all your wonder, glory, and power. Please open his or her eyes to your Good News.
Help me be bold in sharing the Gospel. Sometimes it is hard to see how the Gospel may help a certain need, but we know you are sufficient and meet our needs. Lord help me to have faith and not be meek.
Lord, we also know that sometimes even though our family member is in great need of your saving power they will reject this news. Help me be bold in sharing it, knowing one day this family member’s eyes will be opened but more importantly because you have called me to.
But just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not to please man, but to please God who tests our hearts. (1 Thessalonians 2:4 ESV)
I pray you will help me to love them well in their needs. Even in the mess of their lives, I pray I show compassion.
Father God, you know the sadness that I feel because this family member is not walking with you. So, I pray that you reveal yourself to them. I pray you will meet their need for you to be their savior and the needs they are facing on this earth. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
A Prayer For A Family Member That Is A Believer
God, you are mighty to save. Thank you for the gift of family and life, especially for the family members in my life that are walking with you. This morning, I want to specifically thank you for ______________.
It is such a blessing to walk alongside this family member sharpening each other to be more and more like you.

Lord, I pray that you continue to help this family member grow in the knowledge of you and their boldness to share you.
I pray that you continue to strengthen this family member in a way that they can use their gifts to further your kingdom.
Lord, hold this family member close to you until the day you return. Thank you for being faithful to those you have called.
Concluding Thought
Our family and friends are relationships in our lives that are important to us. When we wake up in the morning the thoughts of these people usually come to our minds and it’s a great time to pray. We know that if they are in believers or not that they will always need prayer.
God longs to hear our prayers about our family and friends. He cares for them. The relationship we have with our family and friends is important because God calls us to love people.
“And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” (Luke 10:27 ESV)
Sharing the Gospel is one of the best ways to live out this command. God is glorified through sharing this truth and when our friend or family hears it and believes they will be blessed with the riches of God’s grace, which will be the greatest love they will ever experience.
So as you pray through these prayers think about the family and friends that need to hear the Good News. Pray for their lost souls. Think about how and when you can love them in this way. And continue to pray that God will give you boldness and the right words.
