Dear God, I don’t know exactly how, but I am going to have to learn how to live as a single adult, now that my divorce is final. Despite all the drama and heartbreak of it, I realize that I can’t curl up in a ball and not live this new life.

Father God, I am now of age that I can learn how to drive a car. My dad is going to begin teaching me next week. I am so excited but also a little terrified because I’ve seen so many car wrecks and I don’t want to be in one or cause one.
Help me to grasp what my dad is going to show me and tell me. Help me to have a realistic caution so that I can fully embrace the responsibility of what driving a car means. God, I am thankful that I have the opportunity to learn a new language. I am going to be spending a good amount of time in another country and I need to be able to speak the language and enjoy the culture where I will be.
I am not afraid of learning, but I do want to be able to focus and actually “get it.” I would like to have some sense of basic fluency as quickly as possible, so I can communicate with the people I’m with there. Depending on your history, learning may be an enjoyable process, or it may seem daunting. As you move along in life, you’ll always be learning, sometimes from new material or information that comes your way, or, often, through making mistakes.
You don’t have to be afraid of learning in your life, regardless of what it may be. God wants you to be able to grow in who you are and what you can do. There’s always something to learn in the different seasons of life, so why not bring all that to God in prayer?
