Prayer For A Housewife Returning To Corporate Work

Dear God, I come to you today seeking your guidance as I look to return to work after being a stay-at-home mom for the past few years. I know that you have a plan for my life, and I trust that you will lead me to the right job.

I pray that you would give me the wisdom to know what kind of work I am best suited for. I also pray that you would help me to be successful in my job search. I see myself as a home manager so I have good skills in overseeing finances, scheduling, and planning. Help me translate all that to the business world.

I know that working outside the home will be a challenge, but I am confident that you will give me the strength and courage to succeed, as this is going to be a challenge. In the name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.

Prayer For A Businesswoman Switching Jobs

Dear Lord God, I pray for guidance as I am looking to switch jobs. I have been working in the same industry for many years, and I am ready for a new challenge in a new workplace. I don’t want to leave until I know I have something else nailed down.

I pray that you would open doors for me and help me to find a job that is a good fit for my skills and experience. I also pray that you would help me to negotiate a fair salary and better benefits. I have some seniority in my field and I believe I should be paid a better salary.

I know that change can be difficult, but I am confident that you will be with me every step of the way. Thank you for your love and support even now as I pray to you.  I trust you will guide me as you always have. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Prayer A Newlywed Wife Looking For A Job

Dear Father God, I just got married last month and am now looking for a job. I am excited to start this new chapter in my life, but I am also a little bit nervous, as I don’t have a lot of experience in my field.

I pray that you would help me to find a job that is both challenging and rewarding. I also ask that you would help me to balance my work and my new life with my husband. We definitely both need to work as the cost of living is pretty high in our area.

Help me to package my skills and what experience I do have into a solid resume on every application. I can get along with almost anyone, which I think is a big selling point to working on a team at a business. I pray for the right words to show the best of who I am. In the name of Jesus, I pray these things, Amen.

Prayer For A Wife Looking For A Job After A Move

Dear Lord, I recently moved to a new city, and am looking for a job. Right now though, I am feeling a little bit lost and alone. I don’t have a built-in social network here to tap into and ask for recommendations or referrals. We haven’t found a church yet.

I pray that you would help me to find my way in this new city. I also pray that you would help me to make new friends and build a new community, as I am going to need both, for regular social connection, but at the moment, for help in finding a job!

Thank you for being with me wherever I go and I feel your love and grace, even as I pray. Guide me to the place I need to be, with a salary that will help us cover our expenses. I trust in you as I pray these things in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Prayer For A Wife’s Job Resume

Dear Lord God, I come to you this morning to pray for my wife. She is looking for a job and needs to get a resume together. She has been out of the corporate workforce for a few years and is worried she won’t be able to explain the time gap.

I am asking for help so I can be of encouragement and help to her. She has great skills that I think will translate well to the business world–it’s just a matter of wording things properly to reflect her experience.

I want her to succeed because I know she will do well in any workplace. She just needs to get an interview and get hired and all of that starts with a resume she can post online and send in with her applications. I ask for wisdom and direction for her and for me as we work on this together.

Thank you for the opportunities that are out there for her. Guide her to the right one and help her put together a rock-solid resume that gets a recruiter’s attention.  I ask for all of this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Consider This

It can be hard to look for, and find, a job these days.  You want something that pays well and likely has good benefits. I want to encourage you with a few key things to remember as you pray about finding a job.

First, remember that God is in control. He knows what you need and He will provide for you. In Philippians 4:19, the Bible says, “And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.”

Second, don’t be afraid to ask for help. There are many people who are willing to help you find a job. Talk to your friends, family, and church members. They may be able to give you some leads or help you with your resume. Who knows? They may even have a position at their workplace!

Third, don’t give up. The job search can be tough, but it is important to keep going. Don’t let discouragement set in. Keep praying and keep looking for a job. Use these prayers here for daily encouragement and connection to God.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3.5-6, NIV).

It will likely take some work just to find work, get that interview, and get hired. As you do those practical things, also keep doing the spiritual things, like praying to God for guidance and a good attitude. May the act of praying help you in the action of looking for, and finding a job!
