4 Trusting Prayers For Abundant Harvest

4 prayers for abundant harvest pin Pin

As I was speaking with a friend she mentioned the rain and the lack of rain we have been having. I thought of my dry grass and pathetic garden how. I thought about how I should water them when I got home. But she had other concerns on her mind.

She had a bigger view of the harm it was causing the farmers in our community. I appreciated her concern for others and it made me recognize that I need to pray for things like the harvest.

God is in control of the wind and the waves. He is in control of the growth of plants and the sun it receives. He is in control of all things

He is also in control of our lives. As we learn to let go we will begin to see how He is orchestrating all things for our good and His glory.

One big way He is doing this is by gathering His people to Himself. In scripture, Jesus referred to this as a Harvest.

After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them on ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to go. And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. Luke 10:1-2 ESV

We need to pray that the Harvest of souls would be abundant as well. We need to pray that there will be many people that will labor in the efforts to spread the Gospel.

These prayers will focus both on the harvest of crops and the harvest of souls. Both are within God’s control and are for His glory. We are glad you are here and joining us as we pray for an abundant harvest.

Short Prayer For Abundant Harvest

God, you are the One and Only God. You created the world with your Word. You created an order. The rain and sun are under your control. You are an amazing God.

Father, I ask that you would allow the rain to fall and the sun to shine so that the harvest this year would be abundant.

Please remove anything that would harm the crops and protect them from the things that will destroy the harvest.

God, I ask that you give me and all the farmers to strength to plant. Give us the wisdom to know what harvest should be planted and where. Guide us to know when to plant. We often feel like we are in control. Remind us that you are in ultimate control of our harvest and to trust you.

I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Longer Prayer For Abundant Harvest

God, you are the Beginning and the End. You created the world and all that is in it. You made everything work just as it should. The rain and sun are under your control. You are an amazing God.

By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible. Hebrews 11:3 ESV

Father, I ask that you would allow the rain to fall and the sun to shine so that the harvest this year would be abundant. We know it all comes from you.

Then I will give you your rains in their season, and the land shall yield its increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. Leviticus 26:4 ESV

God protect the crops. Do not allow any harsh wind or pest to destroy them.

God, I ask that you give me and all the farmers to strength to plant.

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Ephesians 6:10 ESV

Give us the wisdom to know what harvest should be planted and where. Guide us to know when to plant. We often feel like we are in control. Remind us that you are in ultimate control of our harvest and to trust you.

I pray this in Jesus name, Amen.

Prayer For Wisdom When Abundant Harvest Comes

God, I am always thankful for your provision. You provide for me every day. I am well aware that without you I would be wanting.

God, this year you have not just provided but you have blessed me abundantly with this harvest. I want to pray for wisdom now.

And he told them a parable, saying, “The land of a rich man produced plentifully, and he thought to himself, ‘What shall I do, for I have nowhere to store my crops?’  Luke 12:16-17 ESV

Today I ask you the same thing. What shall I do? I do not want to be like this rich man who just keeps it all to myself thinking I can do well to provide for myself.

And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, be merry.”’ Luke 12:19 ESV

I desire to trust in your alone God. I know it is you who has blessed me abundantly.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV

Help me to have the wisdom to know what to do with this abundant harvest. Help me not to lay up treasure here on earth but to lay up treasure for the Kingdom.

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:19-21 ESV

It’s all for your glory Lord, Amen.

Prayer For Abundant Amount Of Souls Saved By The Gospel

Heavenly Father, thank you for your consistent efforts to redeem your people. We all for short of your glory and have no right to come into your presence. But Christ died for our sins and now we are redeemed.

God, those who believe in this good news are the harvest you spoke of. It is Jesus’ work alone on the cross that guarantees our future.

God, I pray that there will be many who will know your love. I pray they will feel the safety of being in your arms. Thank you for securing our safe arrival in the new heaven and new earth.

God, use me as a worker in the harvest. Allow it to be abundant as we spread the good news of the Gospel. Open eyes so they may see the riches of your grace.

Father, use the church to spread this news. Give our leaders and pastors boldness when sharing the Gospel. Let them not be tempted to water it down but allow them to clearly share the need for a savior and your amazing plan that saves.

Give us the strength and courage to share and love our neighbors so that they may know you. Give us the words that come from you. Let us not be nervous to share but give us confidence.

God, send me into the harvest. Allow it to be abundant. I have no other desire in life than to be the means by which you are gathering your people.

Father, I pray that there would not be anything that would distract us from doing your work. Do not let the plans of the evil one delay the ‘harvest’.

I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it will not destroy the fruits of your soil, and your vine in the field shall not fail to bear, says the Lord of hosts. Malachi 3:11 ESV

Thank you, Father, for allowing me to be a part of your plan. Go with me and before as I share your news. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Closing Thoughts

The harvest farmers produce is vital for our daily living. However, Christ was more concerned about our spiritual living. He used examples like this to help us understand.

Preparing the ground is difficult, planting the seeds takes time, waiting for the rain, takes patience, and when the time to harvest comes there is joy.

The same is true for “Harvesting” believers. It isn’t easy, it takes time and patience. But the joy we have as a body of believers is like none other. I can’t imagine the joy God will have when His whole ‘harvest’ has been gathered as He ushers us into the new heaven and the new earth.

It is good to remember that God is the one that does the work. We just have to be obedient to Him. Sometimes we must let go of our own desires or plans and trust where God is leading us to help Harvest His people.

Praise God today for His provision over the earthly harvest and our heavenly one. Pray that it will be abundant.
