But God is so good! He created marriage for our good.

Marriages are one of the most beautiful things we get to experience on Earth. A Christian Marriage is a reflection of how Christ loves and is committed to His church. Because of this, the devil loves to attack marriages using all his tools from lies and pride to resentment and jealousy.

Heavenly Father, My marriage is under pressure. The pressures of this world, from my family and even from friends. It is exhausting.
God, help me to keep my eyes on you. Guide me to understand why marriage is so important and to trust in you to endure while my marriage is under pressure.
God, help me to understand your plan for marriage more, help me to see it is a beautiful picture of how you love the church. (Ephesians 5:22-24 ESV) Help me to be humble and to love my spouse well during this time of pressure.

God, my marriage feels under attack! I want this to be a marriage that is honoring to you. I want this to be a relationship that glorifies you. But every time we put in the effort, it seems like more things come back to attack.
God, the smallest little disagreement, and the world tells me to divorce. I don’t want to but I don’t even know how to make this work.
Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous. (Hebrews 13:4 ESV)
Father, forgive me for not always upholding marriage as you do in scripture. Forgive me of the lustful thoughts and envying other marriages.

Prayer For Husband During Marriage Pressures
Heavenly Father, I want to pray for my marriage. I love my wife so much, I know she is a gift from you. She is beautiful, kind, and loves so well. Thank you for my wife.
God, even though I love her so much it seems like our marriage is struggling. The pressures of being a provider and leading her well is overwhelming sometimes.
Lord, I pray that when we are disagreeing that I can love her well. Help me to speak in a way that honors you. Give me understanding and patience with my wife.

God, will you please help my husband lead our family? I want him to live a life that honors you and that shines your light. Help him to continue to grow to be more and more like Christ.
Please give me patients as I allow him to lead our family, even when I don’t think he is leading well. Help me to respect him in a way that honors you.
God, forgive me for rebelling against you when I think I can run a marriage better than you have designed it. Help me to be submissive to my husband and show him respect.
When I’m tempted to nag my husband or to fight with him help me to know that you have called me to something higher, that is better for our marriage. Help me to speak softly and not to fear as our marriage is under this pressure.

Prayer For Children During Marriage Pressures
Heavenly Father, I know that the pressures of our marriage are difficult on both of us but I also see the effects on my children. God, will you please give peace to my children during this difficult season in our marriage?
Forgive me father when I’m frustrated with the pressures of our marriage I sometimes take it out on my children and without meaning to I aggravate my children. Help me instead to share you with them.
Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. (Ephesians 6:4 ESV)
God help me to share the Gospel with my children. They see the sin in our lives and they see the effects of living in a sinful world. Help me to be able to share with them that there is hope through Christ.
Help me to bolding proclaim to them that the only hope we have in life or death is Jesus Christ. It is his perfect life, his sacrificial death, and resurrection that allows us to have this hope.
God, lead my children to know you and peace you provide, even in tough family situations like our marriage being under pressure. In Your Name, I pray. Amen.

We are so glad that you are praying about your marriage. We know that you entered into this marriage with great love, hope, and expectations.
As time moves on in marriage it can be hard. The pressures of this world and expectations can cloud us from what is really important and takes real restorative effort to keep our marriages strong.
